At the end of July 1796 Tom’s back on the Spanish patrol vessel sailing out of Monterey, past Los Angeles, past San Diego, down coastal Baja California round Cape Falso, the Golfo de California and navigating past the Tres Marias islands before reaching the port of San Blas 22 days later.
