750 miles as the crow flies across the Gulf of Mexico, early November 1796. How long does it take to sail a naval frigate to Havana? The traditional route would have been up along the northern part of the Gulf, down the west coast of Florida before arriving in Cuba. Still in the company of O’Cain both may not have known there exact fate but perhaps could guess that they might be transported to Spain, it must have been clear to them by now that they were political undesirables.
