On the 13th of February 1794 Thomas aboard the ‘Surprize’ convict ship sails out of the Thames heading for Portsmouth sailing past Margate, Deal, Dover, Dungeness, Beachy Head and Selsey Bill, a sail of a couple of days. 6 weeks later on the 26th April 1794 and in the company of 200 other ships they all cruise down the Dorset, Devon and Cornish coast reaching Lizard Point at Lands End on the 4th of May.
